Wait, you can get permanent residency in Mexico for less than 1000$? 😮😮😮 That’s insane. Insanely cheap

It's residency, not citizenship, and I believe that's now the highest price in Latin America by a wide margin. They also have the highest income/savings requirement of all the countries in Latin America. They're trying to keep out people who aren't high earners or savers, which I understand in their position. There's so much demand that they can afford to make the barrier higher, especially since the country is so easy to get to by air or land.

Ah ok. maybe i read it wrong. it seemed unlikely that it would be citizenship.

Wow...why would Mexico let Americans in. They have been treating "Mexicans" like garbage for years. Be prepared for the disdain they may have for YOU! I don't blame them one bit. I'm a Canadian. I hate that when Americans travel abroad they wear Canadian pins and hats. So afraid to show who they really are. I know it's not all Americans!!! But...there sure is a dark history there toward people who aren't American. IE the right colour. Never mind how the natives were treated and continue to be treated.

The US government is treating Mexicans badly, yes, but most Mexicans realize how unpopular the current administration's immigration policies are and they know the government is not serving the wishes of the majority. I am an American living in Mexico, full time since 2018, and don't see any additional animosity toward us. This is simple economics: demand is way up, so they can get away with raising prices to fatten the government coffers.

Is tRump planning to go to war with Venezuela? Or some South American country, to take the focus off Epstein files. That might affect a move.

"Distract daily" does seem to be the policy--anything to take our mind off the pedo-files, rising prices, and the tanking economy. Waging war on a weaker enemy is always good for that it seems, regardless of how unjustified. (They do have lots of oil too, so probably not a coincidence about who got targeted.)
